If you’re expecting a long morning ahead, without a chance for a snack, it’s smart to eat protein for breakfast so you won’t feel hungry by mid-morning. 

NotesBenefits of Soy:

Tofu is processed from soybeans, which have protein without the fat and cholesterol. Soybeans contain natural compounds called isoflavones. These compounds may help reduce the bad LDL cholesterol and increase the good HDL cholesterol. For men, isoflavones may also help to protect against enlargement of the prostate. For women, they may help to reduce the risk for breast cancer and may help relieve some of the symptoms of menopause. Check that the tofu is fortified with calcium.

Ingredients

  • 5¼ oz (150 g) flavored dessert tofu (such as peach, mango, berry or lime)
  • ¼ cup (50 mL) non-fat peach- or vanilla-flavored yogurt (no sugar added)
  • ½ cup (125 mL) skim milk
  • 2 peach halves (fresh or canned, juice-packed) or ½ small banana

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
