Mustard Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup dairy sour cream
  • 6 tablespoons Creole mustard (preferred) or brown mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons prepared mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (preferably cayenne)
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried sweet basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a 1-quart saucepan over medium-low heat. Simmer and stir until thickened, about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring constantly.

  2. Cool to room temperature.
