Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade

The mint syrup is a sweet and refreshing balance to the tart lemons.
NotesSimple Syrup (makes 1¼ cups):
Simple syrup dissolves readily in cold drinks, and we like to serve a little pitcher of it with iced tea so everyone can sweeten his or her own to taste.
In a saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil over high heat. Boil for 1 minute, stirring to dissolve the sugar completely. Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
