Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 chicken breasts, skinned, each cut into quarters
  • 4 slices lean turkey ham, cut into strips
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ½ cup dry sherry wine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh Italian parsley or ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon half salt, half salt-substitute mixture

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat; brown chicken and turkey ham; add tomato sauce, sherry, garlic, parsley, almond extract, raisins, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.

  2. Cover tightly; cook over medium-low heat for 45 minutes.
