Anytime Fruit Smoothie

If it’s not the height of fresh fruit season or if you want to quickly concoct something that’s incredibly refreshing, fruit smoothies are the way to go. Actually, since I always have an assortment of frozen fruits in my freezer, my kids make their own smoothies, either first thing in the morning or whenever they need a quick pick-me-up.

1 Serving (recipe can be doubled)

  • About 1 cup orange juice
  • About 1 cup frozen fruit (mixed assorted berries and peaches)
  • ½ cold ripe banana
  • A few spoonfuls of a favorite yogurt
  • Some drained silken tofu


  1. Whirl the orange juice and frozen fruit in a blender until smooth and thick. If too thick, thin with more juice and, if too thin, add a few more pieces of frozen fruit. For a more fortified smoothie, blend in the banana, some of your favorite yogurt, or some drained silken tofu. Serve right away.
