Ingredients
- 1 recipe Hazelnut Pastry Dough or Chocolate Pie Pastry Dough
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar (250 mL)
- 1 cup pure maple syrup (250 mL)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (50 mL)
- 3 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup bourbon (50 mL)
- 1 cup pecan halves (250 mL)
- 6 oz semisweet chocolate, cut into small pieces (175 g)
- 9-inch (23 cm) pie pan
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)

On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough and fit into bottom of pie pan. Set aside.

In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, eggs and bourbon.

Sprinkle pecans and semisweet chocolate over pastry shell. Pour sugar mixture over top, making sure that you submerge pecans and chocolate pieces.

Bake in preheated oven until a knife inserted into center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before cutting.
