Liz Weiss is an award-winning broadcast journalist, speaker, and spokesperson. She is the co-author of two cookbooks, No Whine with Dinner: 150 Healthy, Kid-Tested Recipes from The Meal Makeover Moms and The Moms’ Guide to Meal Makeovers: Improving the Way Your Family Eats, One Meal at a Time.
Liz champions good nutrition on her website, MealMakeoverMoms.com. The content on her site serves as a resource for parents in search of realistic and practical ways to improve the family diet. There, they can listen to her weekly radio podcast, Cooking with the Moms (nominated by IACP as the best Culinary Audio Program of 2011), and read her blog, Meal Makeover Moms’ Kitchen.
For nearly two decades, Liz wrote and reported on nutrition and health for CNN, PBS, The Health Network, Time Life Medical, ABC Boston, Ivanhoe Broadcast News, and Medical News Network. For three years, Liz wrote the monthly Meal Makeover column for Nick Jr. Family Magazine and is presently writing for Kiwi Magazine.
Weiss received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island, her Master of Science degree in Nutrition Communications from Boston University, and attended the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she completed the Professional Chef’s Program. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and the ADA’s Food & Culinary Professionals practice group.
Liz lives in Lexington, Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.
