The Negroni is said to be named after Count Emilio Negroni, who concocted the cocktail back in 1935 at the Hotel Casoni in Florence. It’s an excellent summer drink.
Yield : Makes 1 drink
Ingredients
- 2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce Campari
- ½ ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 strip orange zest
Directions
In cocktail shaker, combine the liquid ingredients with crushed ice and shake until very cold, Strain into a chilled glass, twish the strip of orange zest over the drink, and add it as a garnish.
Notes
If served on the rocks, use a tall cylindrical glass.
