The Sweet – Sour flavor of Asian sauces is captured in this dressing: the sour from the red wine vinegar, and the sweet from the orange juice and sugar. I added garlic to bring a little piquant zing to the mix.
Yield : 1½ cups
Ingredients
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- ½ cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup canola oil
Directions
Combine all ingredients, except oil. Whisk until sugar is completely dissolved and mixture is thoroughly blended. Gradually add oil while continuing to whisk.
Chill for half a day before using.
