Instead of adding ice, which waters down sangria, make frozen juice cubes. Pomegranate juice is an especially delicious flavor for sangria.

Yield : Serves 8 to 10

Ingredients

  • One 750-ml bottle red wine
  • ¾ cup brandy or cognac
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur such as Cointreau
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup lemon soda
  • 2 fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced

Directions

Combine the wine, brandy, liqueur, and juices in a glass pitcher. Stir, then add the lemon soda and fruit. Stir in frozen juice cubes or ice.
