About Us

What is Cookstr

Welcome! Cookstr.com is a new cooking site dedicated to providing our users with great recipes from the best chefs and cookbook authors. It’s still early days for us, and we’re adding more chefs and authors – and more recipes – all the time. We’ll also be adding new features over the next few months. But in the meantime we’re excited to share with you thousands of recipes from cookbooks you know and love, and help you discover wonderful new books and cooks.

At the heart of Cookstr is a really powerful search engine, which lets you look for recipes in a wide variety of ways. To learn more about how to use the site, go to our FAQs.

Other Things To Do on Cookstr

All of the participating chefs and cookbook authors have their own profile pages on Cookstr where you can read about them, their restaurants, and see a selection of their great cookbooks. The profiles will be updated so that you can check back to see what's new in their worlds.

When you’re looking at recipes you can easily print them or you can send one to a friend. You can also go to our recipe home page for dozens of ways to browse recipes, or to the chef and author home page to see who has recipes on the site.

Soon you will be able to create your own MyCookstr, where you can save recipes, notes, and shopping lists. Click the sign up button in the upper right hand corner and give us your email so we can let you know when MyCookstr is up and ready to go – and also let you know about new features as we add them.

Our Food Values

We believe that real food is for everyone, and that good home cooking is within everyone’s reach. We are attracted to quality recipes that rely on wholesome food. And we believe that people can make a difference simply by being responsible and resourceful consumers.
